Lao Chai Village is a traditional Black Hmong settlement located in the Muong Hoa Valley, 7 km from Sapa town, famous for its expansive rice terraces and mountain views. The village serves as a primary stop for trekkers exploring the lower valley trails that descend from the higher mountain slopes.<\/p>\n
The village is known for its houses built directly into the terraced hillsides, often constructed with local wood and stone. Visitors walk along narrow dirt paths that wind between the rice fields and small family plots. The local residents maintain traditional weaving and indigo dyeing practices, which are visible in the textiles displayed outside many homes.
