The Ta Con airfield and combat base lie on a plateau about 5 km from Khe Sanh town, near the Lao border. The site was made a national monument in 1986. It now has a small museum, bunkers and trenches, and aircraft and tanks on display, including C-130, C-119, UH-1 and CH-47 aircraft. A C-119 was brought from Bien Hoa airbase in early 2026.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">It is the furthest of the DMZ sights from Hue and the coast, so it suits a full day or a private driver. Plan about 1 to 1.5 hours on site.
