Overview

The Hai Tac (Pirate) archipelago lies in the Gulf of Thailand off Ha Tien, a group of about 18 islands. Day trips visit a few of them for swimming, snorkelling and a seafood lunch, and some operators also run night fishing with local fishermen.

Sea conditions vary through the year, so confirm the trip with a boat operator the day before. The trip starts in the morning and returns in the afternoon. Prices differ by boat and by how many islands are included, so ask what is covered before you book.

Highlights

  • Swim and snorkel at the islands
  • Eat fresh seafood on the boat
  • See the islands from the water
  • Try night fishing with local fishermen if offered
