Highlights of Da Nang:

- Ba Na Hills: About 40km from the airport (40 – 55 min). Buy tickets online and start early to avoid cable-car queues.
- Marble Mountains: Entry is about 40,000 VND ($1.55) with an optional lift for 15,000 VND. Explore the caves in the morning.

Step 1: Fly to Da Nang (DAD)

Da Nang International Airport handles domestic flights and some international routes, with frequent flights from Hanoi and Saigon.
- Visa: Many nationalities get a 45-day visa-free stay, and others can apply for an e-visa (up to 90 days) at evisa.gov.vn. Rules change, so check the official portal before you fly.
- SIM/eSIM: Buy a tourist SIM or eSIM at your first Vietnam airport (Saigon, Hanoi or Da Nang) before you fly on.
- Cash: Get dong from an ATM at your first airport. Small shops, local eateries and scooter rentals often prefer cash.
- Flights: Flights take about 1 hr 20 min from Hanoi and Saigon. Fares vary with season.
- Onward transport: The airport is 3km from the center. Grab shows the fare before you book; metered taxis (Mai Linh, Vinasun) also work. My Khe Beach is 5 – 8km (10 – 20 min).

- Long distance: Long-distance trains from Hanoi and Saigon also stop here. Check the official timetable.
- Booking tip: Book seats a day ahead for weekends and holidays.
