The world's largest collection of Cham sculpture, in a French-era building by the Han River.
The Museum of Cham Sculpture was set up in the early 20th century by French scholars to protect Cham stonework found in central Vietnam. It holds the largest collection of Cham sculpture in the world: sandstone altars, dancers, Hindu gods and animals from the 7th to the 15th centuries, many from My Son and Tra Kieu.
The galleries are arranged by site and period, and the building, with its open halls and garden, is pleasant in itself. English and French guides can be booked ahead by groups, and a visit takes about 1 to 1.5 hours. Combine with My Son, or visit it before you go, to understand what you see there.
