Overview
Trang An is the most scenic area around Ninh Binh and part of a UNESCO World Heritage site. Small rowing boats carry you along quiet rivers, through low natural caves and between steep limestone peaks, with rice fields and temples on the banks.
Several fixed routes run through the complex, each with a different mix of caves, temples and islands. A boat ride takes about 2.5 to 3 hours, and the rower does all the work, so it is an easy day for most ages.

Trang An is about 2 hours from Hanoi by car or limousine bus. From Ninh Binh city it takes 15 minutes by taxi or motorbike. The ticket office and dock are at the main gate, with parking close by.
