Overview
Cat Ba National Park covers much of Cat Ba Island and protects limestone forest, mangroves and caves. It is the only home of the Cat Ba langur, one of the rarest primates in the world, and a rare sighting is possible only with a ranger.
The most popular trail climbs to a viewpoint over the island and the bay, taking about 1 to 2 hours. The park also has a cave and a forest walk, and a visit works well as a half day with a stop at Trung Trang Cave.

The park is about 30 minutes by taxi or motorbike from Cat Ba town. Most visitors reach Cat Ba Island from Hai Phong by ferry or speedboat, about 1 to 1.5 hours from the port.
