Overview

The Hue Museum of Royal Antiquities holds objects from the Nguyen dynasty: royal clothing, ceramics, furniture, ceremonial items and everyday things used at court. It is housed in a palace building in the old citadel area, and the building itself, with its carved wooden beams and painted ceilings, is part of the visit.

A ticket of about 50,000 VND applies (an airline guide also lists a combo with An Dinh Palace at about 80,000 VND). Some older guides say the Imperial City ticket already covers the museum, so ask at the ticket office. Children under 12 enter free. Plan about an hour, and it is a good rainy-day alternative when the open-air sites are too wet.
