An easy downhill walk to a Hmong village with waterfalls, weaving and rice terraces.
Cat Cat is a Black Hmong village about 2 km from Sapa town. A paved path runs downhill through terraced fields to the village, which has wooden houses, a small waterfall and a hydropower wheel. Local women weave and dye indigo cloth in front of the houses.
It is an easy and popular walk, and a good first village visit if you have a short time. For a quieter experience, go early in the day, and consider walking on to a less visited trail with a guide.
