A flower garden and stone stairway above Sapa town, with orchid beds and views of the valley.
Ham Rong, or Dragon Jaw, is a small mountain above Sapa town. A paved stairway climbs through flower gardens, orchid houses and rock formations to a viewpoint with a wide view over the town and the valley.
It is a short and easy walk from the centre, which makes it good for a morning or an afternoon when the weather is clear. In the cloud season the view may be limited, but the gardens and stone paths are pleasant in any case.
