One of the oldest pagodas in the city, with carved wooden halls and a quiet courtyard.
Du Hang Pagoda is one of the oldest pagodas in Hai Phong. It dates from the seventeenth century and has been rebuilt several times. The main halls have carved wooden details, and the courtyard is calm even though the pagoda sits in the middle of the city.
It is an easy stop of 30 to 45 minutes, and a good way to see something older than the French-era buildings that define the centre of Hai Phong. It is a working pagoda, so people come to pray, and visitors are welcome to look around quietly.
