A headland of giant granite boulders, with a legend of a giant's handprint.
Hon Chong is a rocky headland north of the city centre, covered in huge granite boulders stacked on each other beside the sea. A legend tells of a giant who left a handprint on one of the rocks, and visitors look for it on the stone. A short loop path leads around the headland with views of the bay.
It is a short stop of 30 to 60 minutes and is best in the early morning or late afternoon, when the light is soft and the heat is lower. Wear shoes with grip, as the rocks and steps can be slippery.
