Overview

The Vietnam Women's Museum tells the story of women in Vietnamese society: family life, traditional dress and crafts, street trading, and the roles women played in the wars. The exhibits are clearly labelled in English and Vietnamese and are among the better-presented in Hanoi.

The museum is in the centre of the city, about a 10 minute walk from Hoan Kiem Lake. Most visitors spend one to one and a half hours. It makes a good break from the heat or rain and pairs well with a walk through the French Quarter.

Highlights

  • Traditional costumes of Vietnam's ethnic groups
  • Stories of women during the wars
  • Street vendor displays and everyday life
  • The museum shop with handmade crafts
