A large military cemetery on the old Ho Chi Minh Road, with more than ten thousand graves.
The Truong Son National Martyrs Cemetery lies in the hills along the old Ho Chi Minh Road, the supply route used during the war. It holds the graves of more than ten thousand soldiers, set out in long rows on a hillside, and is one of the largest military cemeteries in the country.
The visit is solemn. Most people stop for 30 to 45 minutes, light incense and walk the main path. It is usually combined with the Quang Tri Citadel and the other DMZ sights on a day trip from Dong Ha or Hue.
